Worcester 6th Form Student’s Award
On Thursday 7th June 2018 Worcester Civic Society Chairman Phil Douce presented the ‘Professor Michael Clarke Award’ to Charlotte Cobley, a student at Worcester 6th Form College for the Best Extended Project. This will be an annual award and Charlotte was the first recipient with her outstanding project which focused on whether local election results can predict the outcome of general election results.
The award was the brainchild of Phil Douce who thought it would be a nice idea for the Civic Society to make an award each year for the best extended project as a thank you to the college for accepting the bound copies of the Worcester Journals.
Michael has been a long standing President of Worcester Civic Society but will be standing down later this year for personal reasons. It was decided to call the award the “Professor Michael Clarke Award in his honour and it is hoped he will be available to present the award to the winning student next year.
